The Smart Tool Repository (STR) is a centralized point of distribution and information for all smart tools, smart initializations, consistency scripts, and text formatters created within the National Weather Service for the Gridded Forecast Editor (GFE).

Please Note:
  1. The smart tools registry of STR was deleted on Monday, September 14, at approximately 9:15 a.m. ET. Local developers may now begin registering or re-registering smart tools for their sites.

  2. Implementation of LDAP authentication is planned for STR in Q1FY2010. Once implemented, users will be required to enter their NOAA email usernames and passwords to gain access to the STR home page. As the actual implementation date approaches, more information will be provided on this web page.

Which Interface should I use?

Site Interface is for offices who are using or want to use an smart tool. If you think you are going to be doing any downloading at all this is the interface you must use. Offices can download and register a tool , search/post bugs, or search/post comments for an tool

Developer Interface is for developers to upload new Tools and documentation, start new versions or edit existing application information
